Began as an Infantry grunt, then helicopter maintenance, on to flight school (Aviation), back to Infantry, later to Quartermaster, Inspector General, and Combat Generalist.

Military = Infantry, Aviation, Infantry, Quartermaster, Inspector General, Combat Generalist. Vietnam (2x) Serbian Conflict (1x) Iraq (2x (40 months)). Was Enlisted (to E7), Warrant (to CW2), 1970 Battlefield Commission to 1LT Infantry (Vietnam) then promoted to Captain one year later. Later to Maj, LTC, and retired as COL 06. Was requested by name to teach at the Army Senior Service School (War College) Residence phases twice. Had to deny 3rd request as was deployed to Iraq as Commander, Combined Joint Task Force Shield. Boots on the ground combat officer all three conflicts. Denied promotion to BG upon notification from DA that birth prior to Mar 1949 made me ineligible (ie: too old!). Notification received while in full combat in Iraq.
