Marriage is hard work; military marriage is even harder. Many spouses aren't prepared for the unique stresses that plague their relationship. Deployment, job details that can't be shared, lifestyle changes, raising a family minus a parent who's emotionally (or physically) absent, retiring to an alien world. Born into a military family and coming of age in the Vietnam era, I get it.
