I grew up in SoCal in a beach town called Oxnard. Back then the population was low and the town called itself the Lima Bean Capital of the world. Heroin was a huge problem in the town when I was growing up. I often saw bodies laying in the gutters in the down town area. Never knew if they were dead or alive. I attended Ventura Jr College, Fresno State University, and University of Laverne. Inbetween some of that education I spent a couple of years in the jungles of Colombia S.A. doing missionary work. I learned Spanish during those years. I first got a job as a deputy sheriff in California but as time went on it became clear that I wasn't cut out for that job. I ended up in the Air Force where my potential seemed very bright but as time went on my complete and utter lack of workplace politics knowledge/ability saw me stab myself in the chest a few too many times. I was fortunate to be able to retire. I was a successful investor which truly was the primary income over the years of my life. Before I retired from the USAF I built a nice log home on 10 acres north of Fairbanks AK. That's where I am today though we are working on a move to Cheyenne WY on account of I've gotten to frail to maintain our Alaska property. God bless you!

Worked as a Raven and provided tech support to the squadron. I didn't fly too much because by then I had some disabilities that often saw me DNIF. I retire after this tour.

Global Operations Center | Beale AFB, CA

I remember doing a lot of tech support... building and maintaining servers and a network. I don't remember the section of the GOC that I worked in because the junior officers had the full work load covered so I had to look for other things to do to keep busy.
