Not this vet. I love the idea. Privatize the program. Government has never been able to deliver anything on time or on budget. Why should we expect them to start with veteran's benefits?

I think the issue is that in the world of soundbites he "explains this badly."

The Department of the VA is simply put, not efficient, nor is it trustworthy. All on board? Anyone disagree with those statements?

If those statements are true, on their face, why should it, in its current form remain open? Wouldn't it be better to "eliminate it?"

Now, when we use term eliminate, we generally have to follow it with, "and replace with." Dr. Carson as previously said "shift care back to the DoD" and others have said "Privatize." There are concerns and issues with both those concepts, however as CPT Jack Durish said, the Government has never been able to deliver [sic] so why not look for an alternative.

I think Rick Santorum has the right idea ... sub out all other medical service and make VA specialize in PTSD and battle field related injuries. That will trim down VA to an small effective organization to only deal with very specified military related health issue.
