Not unexpected SGT (Join to see); but, anticlimactic on the day that Iran freed an Iranian-American Marine ans Pastor Saeed.
If he is found not guilty I suppose a Purple Heart might be appropriate. However a POW medal after voluntarily leaving his unit on a foolhardy mission of his own design to draw attention to illusions of his own mind does not seem appropriate for a POW Medal.

LTC Stephen F., I wasnt aware he was wounded in action. What happened? Did he cut himself crawling through barbed wire to get to the enemy? I dont think he deserves anything but another butt kicking and jail time.

SGT (Join to see) - according to the article you linked to the "The Army will not decide whether alleged deserter Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl will receive two significant medals [POW Medal and Purple Heart] that could be associated with his five years of captivity until after he is court-martialed for deliberately walking away from his infantry platoon's base in 2009, an Army official said."

All other factors aside, I'm apparently missing some details. Why is the purple heart on the table at all?
