I remember see news reports of WM's doing Patrols in villages and doing P.R. stuff for the military with the women and kids. of the village. But We know The Green Machine and know the kind of stuff they sweep under the carpet or omit from even their own people. To me if they can do the job let them. But start at the beginning do away with the different standards at the Boot Camp/ Basic level and Keep the standards they have for males the same as they have always been. That way the women will be training at the same level as their Male counter parts from the beginning. Sure the Drop rate for the women will increase but there will be those that qualify. Ultimately isn't that what everyone is looking for everyone being trained the same from the beginning? I know as fare as in the Corps. one of the things we could count on as Marines is We all were trained the same way and have the same Basic knowledge as every other Male Marine integrating the female at the Male standards will just increase that knowledge and that the ones that Make it through that can handle the same mental and physical basic standards. and do the same for S.O.I. and any other Combat M.O.S. if they make it, it would be like any other Male that made it if they don't just like now they get dropped. The sex of the person sending rounds down range shouldn't matter, it's just more rounds helping to kill the enemy and helping protect your ass right?

That's not true they make it a big deal because they were a support element to go out and engage with females and kids to help ODA's for collections. They were NOT a Direct Action (DA) for offensive engagement for the Task Force.

The Marines were doing it back in 2009 and some in Iraq. They are called FETS and Marines still have them and a unit for them. The first ones started with Lioness program in Iraq because we had them also. Marine Engineers and Navy Operated outside the wire all time in Iraq and had females with them these would be the first Bata type examples. The problem is it is defensive Combat not offensive so the DOD is using apples to oranges to make a political statement and is going to screw the military up for some time. They made it a big deal because the Army was doing it and it was with SOF ,but in the end the two missions were the same.
