"The FBI has accelerated the investigation because officials want to avoid the possibility of announcing any action too close to the election"....this is exactly how an investigation gets muddled and holes made through simple mistakes.
"From the earliest days, Clinton aides and senior officials focused intently on accommodating the secretary’s desire to use her private email account, documents and interviews show.

Throughout, they paid insufficient attention to laws and regulations governing the handling of classified material and the preservation of government records, interviews and documents show. They also neglected repeated warnings about the security of the BlackBerry while Clinton and her closest aides took obvious security risks in using the basement server."

The above statement I have issue with. You "know" your job and the requirements to support it. You also know the regulations and should be able to brief them to her in a manner that lets her know this is wrong. Accommodating leaders is a P.I.T.A., but not informing them properly leaves them AND you open to future issues. I've had to deal with many officers and senior enlisted who wanted things THEIR WAY and their way was sometimes in violation of Army and DOD regs. Normally when you put it to them in crayon, most understand and back down no problems. Next they paid insufficient attention. Stop right there. If this is acknowledged and confirmed, the focus while on her, should squarely hit them regardless of what she did. They were derelict in their jobs and should be held more accountable than her. That is a definite resume generating moment, a lack of freedom moment, and a definite sudden loss of money moment.

Far and away, the most fascinating part of the story are the people who are defending Hillary. One has advanced the theory that Hillary isn't bound by the law because the State Department didn't sign her "contract". I've read a couple of the laws that she is purported to have violated and I cannot find anything that says archiving official business and safeguarding secrets are contractual obligations. Interestingly, the only "contract" I signed was simply an acknowledgement when I left the Army that I had been notified of the various travel restrictions that would be imposed on me and that I was subject to be reactivated and court martialed if I violated them or disclosed secrets. (I possibly held more security clearances than Hillary.) I would have been court martialed without that document. It would simply be evidence that I was aware of the law even though ignorance of the law is no excuse. The only valid defense Hillary has is that she was ignorant of the fact. That is, she could claim that she didn't know about the existence of the email server in question (and I think we've moved way past that defense, haven't we?).

So why are people defending her so aggressively? Why are they conjuring up fanciful defenses? It's hard to believe that they simply like her that much. I don't believe anyone has ever accused her of being likable. She isn't an ideologue. Unlike Sanders (who doesn't know what a socialist is), Hillary makes no claim to being a socialist. It seems that her only clearly evident appeal is that she is a woman. Granted, gender should in no way bar a candidate from office, but neither should it be a qualification, should it? So, what is Hillary's appeal?

Reminds me of the time DC Mayor Barry was caught on tape and arrested for drugs while serving as Mayor. What happened after his jail time? DC elected him again.

CPT Jack Durish and Maj Kevin "Mac" McLaughlin It pains me to think that people actually believe her when she speaks and that she would or even could be remotely good for the United States as a leader. Honesty and Integrity are two vital pieces of leadership. She has neither. I have no idea what appeal is or could. Her voice is like fingernails on a chalk board for me. He message muddled by deceit and mistrust.

Just read the article. It amazes me the people that will bend over backwards to defend her and to make her cushy life even more cushy. People talk about how out of touch with real life that Obama is. He cant hold a candle to her. I think there should be a group of people fitted for Orange Jumpsuits. Anyone that buys that BS defense that they emails weren't marked are fools. Anyone that has ever held a clearance knows that's not a requirement in order to be guilty. If you use the defense for Clinton your lying to yourself and your brothers and sisters here on RP. I would think you wouldn't protect her to the point of lying to fellow veterans. Id be ashamed to have you as shipmates if you lie to cover this snake. She and all her yes people knew it was wrong but she and them think they don't have to follow the same laws and regulations as the rest of us lowly people.

So I vented about the snake HRC so I have to ask. What has she done in her life that would make you think she would make a good President??/ She has nothing on her resume except the ability to hang onto someone else's coat-tails. She has never done anything worth while. She takes credit for things she hasn't done and looks to place blame on others for the things she has done. Never forget. They landed under sniper fire and had to run to the hanger...Oh wait..News video showed she is a liar.
