And yes for all you nonbelievers vacuum tubes still are used in electronics besides the magnetron in your microwave oven I'm probably the only human left who still actually knows how they work though which positively makes me feel like an ice age relic obviously and positively stinks of course...

Wow..this stuff is a lot to learn. I am sure the Russians still use vacuum tubes in their planes or secure systems since supposedly an EMP nuclear warhead will not affect them. Any truth to that?

always good to have them. I was talking to a HAM radio operator while doing my UPS deliveries. During the floods in Calgary, the army was called out and local ham operators used their vacuum tubed home sets to communicate. Whether it is the 'zombie apocalypse LOL' or a natural disaster. Keeping old school technology is the way to survive, for the short term, the disaster at hand.

I follow many thanks I had novice and technician class ham licemses long ago expired if you might care to try it look at a software web based ham radio simulator called Hamsphere on http://www.hamsphere.com i had mentioned on here some time back you might find it of interest it's not real though it sounds it merely an exquisitelymgood simulation get versions 3.0 and 4.0 and try them cell phone and tablet versions you get a 2 wk free trial I think them it's about $40-$50 a yr enjoy...

Glad obviously you found it of interest there are supposedly stations on there from the Vatican and Antarctica though I've never seen them on unfortunately though I keep!hoping lol...
