That is interesting SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL thanks for sharing the rest of tte story.
I expect that it one of our ships attempted to shoot down Russian fighters within a hundred miles of Russia there would be hell to pay at many levels.

LTC Stephen F. There wouldn't be any 'attempt'. If that ship went weapons-hot, those planes WOULD go splash.

SN Greg Wright - if our ship went hot and they turned off the stops on counter-measures from satellite level down through aircraft to shore emplacements this would be an interesting test of measures and counter-measures at many levels,

I imagine the FCs on watch were bugging the crap out of the TAO. The birds had clean wings...so ROE reigns supreme.

Plus they weren't suppose to do that anyways from an agreement they had a while back. Looks like there's gonna be some training involved and some apologizing. I can see the FC's freaking out.

We've played this game as long as I can remember, Cat and Mouse. One thing we were always trying to get was Order of Battle and Signatures. Best way to do it is to tease the other side and see what he turns on and uses as far as Radar, Comms. Welcome to my World.

We used to Tease the Iranians and they would tease us back. Bears out of Vladivostock would fly out over the Aleutians and the Air Force would chase them out. Saw one the Zoomies let get almost to Anchorage before they turned him around. Don't want to do the same thing over and over.
