I am glad to see he is still alive !I met 1Lt Buck Compton at a book signing in 2009 at the Joint Base Lewis-McCord. I have a copy signed by him. He passed away,sadly in 2012.

SGT John " Mac " McConnell - I am glad you want to. He had so many famous people in his life. He never drank (You will find out why). He could have been a child actor. He could have played professional sports and he retired doing law. I did not give away the story and meeting him in person was a fluke since I broke my ankle in Afghanistan doing Combatives so I was unlucky with the ankle but lucky to meet him on a book tour to the base!
