North Vietnamese and Viet Cong attacks almost completely isolate Phnom Penh. The principal fighting raged in and around Kompong Thom, about 90 miles north of the capital. On June 17, Cambodia’s last working railway line, which ran to the border of Thailand, was severed when communist troops seized a freight train with 200 tons of rice and other food supplies at a station at Krang Lovea, about 40 miles northwest of Phnom Penh.

SP5 Mark Kuzinski These are great updates about the war. There are some many moving parts that a lot of individuals aren't familar with when it comes to what happened each step of the way. These are awesome updates - I enjoy them Mark - thanks for taking the time to post them!

Those were foreboding times SP5 Mark Kuzinski. Many of us had no idea how horrible the Khmer Rouge communist takeover of Cambodia would actually become. When Pol Pot came to power in 1975 he would ruthlessly eliminate anybody or group he didn't like.
This was most likely worse than any domino theorist of communism could imagine.
