No Money for Modernization, There will be no Modernization. Once again the "Song Remains the Same" for the VA. No Win Situation.

SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL I doubt there will ever be complete sharing of medical records between DoD and the VA on behalf of veterans.
1st there is no need or requirement for complete medical record sharing between the DoD System of systems and the VA system of systems. Only those records which would clearly shed light on service connected disabilities such as MEPS entrance physicals and records of surgery and exit of service physicals would make sense.
2nd many records were had written. Those are incredibly difficult to read after they have been scanned in.
3rd. For many reasons the military service medical records are not universally available. Some were restricted for privacy act reasons. Others have been segregated by military health system.
4th. In the VA medical records including treatment and prescribed medications are visible within the specific treating system only and not visible to other systems. I keep good records on all my medications and have had to tell doctors which meds were prescribed elsewhere.
