Kim Bolen RN CCM ACM Very interesting article. It's amazing what technology has allowed us to learn about the human brain. Now if we can take that knowledge and develop cures for altimeters, autism, and other disorders, that would be revolutionary for the medical field. What do you think RP connections?

This would be very big and promising news. I am personally affected by dementia - my mother is the 5th generation in her family to have dementia/Alzheimer's disease. This doesn't bode well for me. I would love to see this be utilized in early detection, as well as continued research in prevention and treatment.

SPC Veronica J Rorrer-Miller I agree that would be a great early warning, prevention, and continuing treatment process! Let's hope it gets there soon!

Noted the article mentioned the pool was only young healthy adults. I'd expect future sorting would look at differences between men and women along with "brain cells not activated" teens and older folk. I'm a systems type who looks for information vs. data. Data is something. Information is a difference that makes a difference.

This effort reminds me of the human genome project which had high aspirations and hopes before realizing the immense complexity of the human genome Kim Bolen RN CCM ACM.
Similarly I expect God is amused at human efforts to map the brain. Our mind has a relationship to our brain the delta T [change in time] of brain function is not directly linked to the delta T of mind function.
Mapping the brain can certainly gain insight into body control and direction beyond the simplistic left half of brain controls right half of the body, etc.
"By combining multiple types of cutting-edge brain imaging data from more than 200 healthy young men and women, the researchers were able to subdivide the cerebral cortex, the brain’s outer layer, into 180 specific areas in each hemisphere. Remarkably, almost 100 of those areas had never before been described. This new high-resolution brain map will advance fundamental understanding of the human brain and will help to bring greater precision to the diagnosis and treatment of many brain disorders."
I had to chuckle when I read "Remarkably, almost 100 of those areas had never before been described." The human brain and the mind/soul are incredibly complex.
Thanks for mentioning me COL Mikel J. Burroughs
