I think it only serves to prove my point. There's no such thing as a "moderate" Muslim or "radical" Islam.
There are apostates.
And there are true believers.
You will find apostates doing all sorts of things contrary to their religion.
The true believers who believe it is their duty to fulfill the letter of the law of thier religion even if they be in the minority will always have more sway or impact than 10000 of their brethren who "peaceably" (or passively) accept the status quo.
Regardless of the actions of 1 million apostates and what they believe or don't believe has NEVER been the issue and hence CANNOT be the sign of hope.
It's the one true believer willing to risk everything and climb on a plane with a box cutter who learned to fly from a 20$ Microsoft program and wants to die for his god and is willing to stop at nothing to accomplish bringing war to the infidels that we have to watch and prepare for.
Plato said "only the dead have seen the end of war"
And this will be the new face of it. The true believer with an ax to grind..... Not his peaceful brothers who are more concerned with their Facebook image than they are with their eternity.

SrA Alan Sherman, I feel that way too. Those criminals using Muslims as their religion, while they loot and murder anyone who they think it is an infidel, a Christian, or against them, are the Devils brothers.

The more we see of this, the better things will get.

I've always questioned the utility of "why don't the moderate Muslims say anything?" This is ten times better.

This also, I believe, highlights the importance of putting Western-style freedom and Islam in the same room. It tempered the extreme elements of Christianity, ultimately, and it tempered Judaism. I believe it will ultimately have the same effect on Islam. It's a long slog, but I'm positive. We just have to ensure host populations don't cow-tow, but rather implicitly demand that the vestiges of anti-modernity are not compatible with a free society, just as we do with other faiths.
