If I'm not mistaken, didn't NASA cease its own manned space flights?

And, I think that private industry can probably do a better job than NASA!

Without doubt, the exploration of the solar system will be corporate-driven. There are asteroids out there worth more than the entire economic output of the entire human race throughout history.

Did the FAA approve this or just another ploy to show how gracious the government is in letting private industry show how it is done? How did we get in charge of space?
