I tend to disbelieve stories like this, but my research found that this is true. In today's world where identity theft is a problem, it amazes me that Comcast and AT&T feel this is a good and safe business practice.

Comcast and all the others really don't care about the customer. One report said that they lost 281,000 customers, yet if you call them you just get a sales pitch, no resolution. Dish is even worse, they will basically tell you to pound sand and go elsewhere if you don
t like their service. If you try to get resolution from the FCC they pass you off to the local administrator and they don't have a means of escalation you you are still pounding sand after much effort. Someone is getting lots of cash to look the other way while the public has few options..
