Me either LTC (Join to see). Other than being like what PVT James Strait said, I can't figure it out either. What is so damn wrong with our country that U.S. Citizens are going to the other side? We have problems like any other country, but our country is still the best place on earth to live. Can religious views be that dangerous, that our young people want out?

Yes ....we have problems as a country. I have issues with things...but I see that as life. It is not going to be easy and it is very hard at times. But at the end of the day all my basic needs are being taken care of. I have food, love, a job, and I strive to live simply and without worry. I don't care who is President...we as people still have the ability to live life...and live it pretty good. I don't blame anyone for where this country is because it is a systemic problem...an ego problem. I cannot think of anything that can happen to me that I cannot look at myself and say I am NOT responsible. Where ever I end up is from my decisions and actions...not the president, not my mom, not my boss...but me. I choose my happiness....or sadness.

Like I wrote PVT James Strait, She's the very type they look for to recruit. It looks like after they are recruited, they're on their own as far as getting out of the US, or figuring out some way to kill our citizens over here. That's not a very good strategy if you ask me. Some real teeth need to be implemented in the sentencing. Shoulda got twenty but only got twelve years? It should have been at least life without parole.

This is really sad because her father had a respectable military career. He served in the military for 21 years and completed fourteen military deployments, serving with "integrity and honor." He's as well a police officer for over 17 years. Not sure what she or her friend were thinking as she had a bright future ahead of her as a doctor - she could have done a lot of good.

I read that about her family, SPC David S.. She had everything going for her. She wasn't a whacko or ignorant, yet she she felt the terrorist life style was what she wanted. It shows me anyone, anywhere, are susceptible to become a terrorist.
