Kyle was a great warrior, really loved the mission and was very good at it.

But he also made up some stories that just weren't true. So Ventura has the right to seek compensation for lost income due to Kyle's slander--if there really was slander. It's up to a jury to decide.

The first time the case was tried, Ventura won a million plus.

I looked into Kyle when the movie came out, read his book, read interviews, read what others said. Kyle told interviewers several whoppers. He killed two guys who attempted to steal his truck: nope. He killed 30 looters during Katrina while perched on the top of the Superdome: nope. He found WMD in Iraq: nope. Recently, the Navy deleted one of the Silver Stars from his DD214, saying it was entered in error. But Kyle claimed two Silver Stars publicly. Wouldn't you know how many Silver Stars you had?

As I said, Kyle was a hero and a great warrior, but some of the things he told interviewers were just fiction. The details are easy to find.

He used to love talking about how he was a SEAL, but in fact, he was a UDT Diver. At the time he "Served" the UDT and SEALs were separate entities. He hung out in the Philippines during his time in the Navy.
