When I read "For the first time in years, the Iraqi Shiite cleric Muqtada al Sadr and his militia are unleashing fiery anti-American rhetoric and threatening to attack U.S. troops" I had to laugh LTC (Join to see). Muqtada al Sadr may not have been speaking to western cameras; but he has most likely been spewing his hate against the USA and our service members since the 2003 just like his Iranian masters have since 1979.

yes Stephen, its for domestic consumption since Sadr says we put Daesh there to hurt Shia Muslims which I am sure Trump's comments plays into their narratives.

When i was at Camp Lima Karbala in 2004-05 there was an Iraqi Shia couple that worked on post doing laundry, sewing uniforms, etc. They both stated categorically, "You need to kill him, he is crazy. His followers do many drugs and are crazy too. Tell the Colonel to kill him."

I've always wondered what would've happened if we had taken him out early on.

Thanks, Brian, for the feedback.I think he is riding on the coattails of his Father.
I knew about him because I was the Liasion Officer in the Warrior TOC/CIC to one of the many Battlions attached to the FOB so I was one of many present for the Saturday Battle Update Brief (BUB) and all the mosques were monitored by Iraqis working for us and one particular mosque had one of Sadr's Imams talk shit about U.S. and Coalition forces. The report from the Brigade Chaplain sent out during the week said the Mosque staff said this Imam comes in Friday and leaves back to Baghdad immediately. Most of the Mosques in Kirkuk, did not put us down like this one did. It never got resolved.http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-12135160

Because he is an Ayatollah and would be considered a Cardinal or Pope in the Shia World and probably he would be a Martyr and made a Saint in Shiism if we gave him a Hellfire missle for breakfast. His Dad, also a Cleric, is not as crazy as he is and is even more Famous. He and his Father are considered the most holy men in Iraq.

So we give him m1's. Well i guess that armor has been examined by ever country that we dont get along with. That's great. Now we arm guys that spread hate speech against us, what could possibly go wrong? We dont have to be the ones that take him out any carbomb, motorcycle bomb will do the job.

SPC Michael S. - We did not give or intend to give Hezbollah M1s. I was pissed about this. It was the F'd up Iraqi Government that gave them those tanks after we gave them to the Iraqi Army.https://www.rallypoint.com/shared-links/what-do-you-think-about-usa-given-m1-abrahms-tanks-being-used-by-hezzbollah-in-iraq
