In a sense, Trump is correct. At least in a war zone, you are a combatant or you get out of the way (a refugee). In America's inner cities (universally controlled by the Left) you are a victim, forbidden by law to defend yourself.

SSgt Charles L - http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2016/06/04/us/chicago-shootings.html How many Americans were shot and killed in Afghanistan or Iraq in one weekend?
Three days, 64 people shot, six of them dead: Memorial Day on the streets, and the violence that has engulfed families and neighborhoods.

As someone who grew up in the Bronx, New York it doesn't matter what political affiliation the representative is. Please stop with the left versus the right. I'm pretty sure you can defend yourself in any state but it is up to the laws and judicial system. When did personal accountability become so scarce? People have the programs available to change their lives; most will refuse to get help. The lack of care (Republican/Democrat) is what caused the inner cities to become what it is today. At one point in time, the South Bronx was like Beirut. Now, coupled with the citizens, leadership have turned it around. Republican leadership is not any better...neither party is. The inner cities are scary for some people. But there are places in rural communities that are plagued by drug use and gang affiliations. Do your own research. Find the truth. No left. No right.

1SG Patrick Burke - I can name Governors. Chris Christie and Rick Scott. Gov Scott is a disappointment. His attitude and actions towards Florida's aging population is a disgrace. He vetoes bills that will help those on fixed incomes and attempted to raise taxes as well (My mother lives in FL). Gov Christie is NOT a supporter of law enforcement. He dismantles police agencies in some towns/cities in NJ which forces other agencies to pick up the slack. He was notorious for doing this in Trenton (if I am not mistaken). Like all politicians, he lies. Scott lies.
Don't get me wrong, Democratic leadership seldom support their law enforcement agencies. Baltimore was a perfect example and I have friends at that agency that are being treated beyond poorly. But overall, i think that leadership is up to the person. We can't please everyone but we ALL need to learn how to work together. Personally, I don't care if people are Republican or Democrat. I will not allow one party or another to prevent me from caring about my fellow man and that is what both parties are doing.

SGT C Mendez - The first paragraph is erroneous on all counts. The second paragraph, you are absolutely correct, specifically the last sentence.
Be safe out there and thanks for what you do.

he is correct. Going to Chicago without armor is crazy. More die there in a weekend than die in Iraq in weeks. Talking Americans in Iraq.
