"Stand for something or fall for anything." For those who said... "What is he going to do for the people he's supposedly doing this for?" Well, I guess this answers that question.

I don't see the big deal. There are plenty of people doing God knows what during the anthem. He is not being violent or anything simply stating his opinion. Is he supposed to just sit back and do nothing like athletes and superstars have done for years. They hated Ali and when he died all of a sudden he was the GOAT. No different they both are trying to bring attention a problem. He didn't ask for the attention and at the end of the day you can't please everyone. He also said that he supported veterans and it was nothing against them/ us.

It's crazy when your kids can't be kids because you're scared of someone discriminating or at worst killing them because some kind of way it will be justified. It's truly sad. But when people take a stand they're morons and other things.

I think that I will not support him not standing for that National Anthem. Its like we keep slipping with not holding any tradition in the United States. First we want to elect presidents with no military service and one that actually hate the military. Then we allow schools to eliminate saying the pledge of elegance, we want to get rid of god in every thing. There are a lot of other things that America has let slip. I think we are trying to get rid of GOD and Religion in America. No matter what you believe in some people need religion to make them peaceful and give them hope.

Love him or hate him for his actions, disrespectful as it may have been to do it in this way... we couldn't call it freedom if he didn't have the right to do so. At the end of the day, we fight for our citizens to have these rights to stand up for what they believe in. (or in this case sit down)

I think him not observing the National Anthem is setting another bad example for kids. Him not standing for the National Anthem is not going to create any equality in America.

What ‘right’ are you speaking of? He has as much ‘right’ to kneel while in the uniform of his employer as you do. You should kneel, in uniform, on base, the next time the National Anthem is played. Let me know how far that ‘right’ gets you.
Now, if someone in the stands wants to sit, or talk, or whatever during the National Anthem, have at it. I won’t necessarily like it, but yeah, they have that right—which they are exercising as a private citizen.
However—anytime we are in the employ of another, our ‘rights’ are constrained. By contract, so are his. The 49ers/NFL may choose not to take any actions against him, but don’t think for a minute his ‘rights’ are unfettered.
