I know there are quite a few people that believe that the US should be a 'Christian' country, but leaving the flag folding ceremony's speech with undoubtedly alienate people as it has in the past with "unofficial" Judaeo-Christian meanings to the folds in the flag.
I feel that the AF should have left its own "mandatory" secular speech when describing the folds and their meaning

I never looked at, and still do not look at, the American Flag as a religious symbol. It represents Liberty, not a god. Christian or otherwise.

And then the MRFF plays directly into the hands of it's critics.
I'm a big proponent of freedom of religion and specifically to not have someone else's religious views imposed upon me but at the same time "freedom of religion" is not the same thing as "freedom from religion".
The majority of the time I agree with the MRFF's actions but not in this case. The choice of script for the flag folding ceremony should 100% be the decision of the honoree. If they are a Christian and want an overtly Christian script that is their right.
