I use this case in my arguments with people on why I support the death penalty.

This happened in my Home of Record, I was overseas at the time. The Main Stream Media even back then was avoiding the narrative that Blacks commit crimes, add to it that the "lack of sensationalism" there was no way this was going to get even a sound bite out side of Tn.

While those involved got some stiff punishment, they all should have been executed. None of the criminals are worth life and will never be redeemable. Why pay for them to live? This isn't a Black White thing this is a human thing, If you have zero respect for others lives why should you get to keep yours? Why let some scum sit in Prison getting 3 hot's and a cot, Along with all the free education and what ever else they seem to be offered while their victims lay cold and dead in the ground?
