NOW READ MY ENTIRE POST BEFORE BLASTING ME.
I am not defending anyone that did this but on back country roads all over Mississippi (I was born and raised in MS and retired back here so I can speak to this) there are street signs, memorials, etc that are shot up. Kids ride around at night and are bored because there literally isn't anything to do at night and shoot these things up because there aren't any people within gun sound that can report it. This is in the MS Delta...nothing but farmland and the nearest communities, not towns, are 2 hours away. Is it right...NO, it is vandalism and it needs to stop. They may have been targeting this sign or they may not have. They may have just gotten a new pistol and boxes of ammo and decided to cruise around shooting every sign they see. I would be interested to see if any other signs in the area were blasted before I shouted hate crime. Now...if it is found to be a hate crime through vandalism, set up cameras an catch the SOB's that are doing this and prosecute to the fullest extent of the law. Either way they need to be caught and prosecuted.

Yuh we had a cemetery out by a resort from way back in the 14 and 15 hundreds (oldest grave there was dated back in 1465 and youngest was in the early 1750s) and kids went in there grave stone tipping just because it was "fun" to tip the stones! Lets see if this was a case of kids getting bored or an actual hate crime and if it was a hate crime punish those that did it to the fullest extent of the law. If it was just a bunch of kids that were bored let them pay for the new sign and do community service for it.

I'm not going to "Blast" You Colonel. I was Young and Dumb at one time and reeked quite a bit of Mischief and you may be very well right. I hope you are but I suspect that some of those involved came from a Household that taught them to Hate.
