1. The image of 1898: Pierre and Marie Curie discover radium: French scientists Pierre and Marie Curie discover radium reminded me that Madame Curie succumbed to radiation sickness. Their efforts to develop x-ray systems cost them their lives.
2. the image of "1959: Wedding of the Shah of Iran: The Shah Of Iran Mohammad Reza Pahlavi marries Farah Diba." reminded me that less than 30 years later he was deposed in the violent revolution which led to the Tehran hostage crisis.
