I encourage all men to have similar discussions with the women in their lives, if for no other reason but to see if it's as widespread as people think.

A lot of men, myself included, have never given the idea of being raped much consideration. To do so was and is very disturbing, and something I would rather not deal with. Except for a prison-type situation, such an occurrence is probably unlikely for a man. By the same token it can only be horrifying to have that consideration as a very real possibility in the back of your mind as no doubt many women do. No way a man can begin to imagine how one would feel if raped. A traumatic mental, physical, emotional and psychological experience which would be impossible to ever recover from.

Rape is a terrible issue no matter where you are and is certainly one of the great problems of modern society (along with slavery which almost no one is willing to talk about). However, rape was a relatively infrequent crime in Europe, until the fall of the Soviet Union and its subsequent wave of immigrants from the former Eastern Block nations. As the article describes it has now grown to epidemic proportions with this recent round of Immigration from the Middle East and Northern Africa. Its so very sad and I fervently hope the Germans (and Europeans) can put a stop to the madness.

This is a shame, Germany used to be a safe place.
