The military made me take a class last month on 'responsible drinking'. After the sucide of my rarely -sober Sister in July of 2015, I feel there is no such thing. Stay sober. Seek help and don't drink!

you have to Hit the Bottom and start the climb Back ... and realize what where and How and Then realize you need help and ask for it... it comes from Family and friends and From above...

I'm truly and genuinely sorry for all those terrible things, LTC (Join to see). I wouldn't wish them on anyone. However, I believe that Capt Gregory Prickett refers to a way of life I studied in high school called the Hellenic (Greek) spirit.
"The essential thought is found in the work of the Greek poet Hesiod (c.700 bc), 'observe due measure; moderation is best in all things.'"
I know it doesn't alter the horrific circumstances you've come up against, but that is the sentiment, I think, and an admirable way of life if one can live that way.

LTC Stephen C. - I consider 'moderation' to be one of the tenants of the Methodist Church.
I have been fortunate, my consumption has increased - after 1700 HRS - responsible drinking? I have never had a DUI, (perhaps one or two were deserved), now when 'out', I have 1 or 2 cocktails, depending on the menu and the length of the function!

CSM Charles Hayden - 7 Chuck, I bet you're someone could bet you $5,000 that you could not have a drink for three months and you would do it hands down. My wife knows people who would have the shakes if they wouldn't have a drink of alcohol after a day.

LTC (Join to see) - Canadian Loonies or US Greenbacks? My sons and lady friend were pleased and shocked when I had a small imbalance in my system and did not inbibe for 5 weeks!
