SN Greg Wright - simple. When police investigate police, they tend to give the officer a pass.

Although I will state that based on the video, there is no way you'll get a conviction. Too many people would give the cop the benefit of the doubt.

Capt Gregory Prickett - Then how isn't he fired (or any of them) for failure to render aid? They just stood there.

SN Greg Wright - Letting the guy die is the easy way to handle it, one fewer witness. Somehow police now have looser rules of engagement that troops in Afghanistan do and are far less accountable at least to some folks I know who have been in both situations.

Somehow cops have become warriors not peace officers , even though it has become less dangerous to be a cop over the years, you might not believe me but you can easily check out how many cops are killed on duty over the last few decades and which way the trend line goes for yourself.

Everyone was asking the shooter if he was OK, while they rendered no aid whatsoever to the victim. Unbelievable.

Panic is an unpredictable thing. Our first night in Iraq, a pickup truck with a bunch of IA soldiers in the back pulled up to our aid station with their buddy bleeding out. Amputated leg, no tourniquet. That ended as expected.

Unacceptable in my opinion. The officer rolled up on what I believe is a traffic accident, not an active shooter. Most of us at an accident may get out of our vehicle with our wallet in hand, perhaps registration etc. The Officer was already drawn and ready to fire and fired well before identifying an actual threat. How is deadly force authorized here?

I don't know that he needs to go to prison but he should be out of law enforcement for sure. It is a bad shooting, period. How could anyone argue anything else?

The other cops on the scene did little to clear the vehicle or aid the victim of a bad shooting done by one of their own. The cop knew it was a bad shooting too, just watch him pace and the look on his face. The only person more surprised he is not off the force than us is him.
