If ever there was a case for privatizing the VA this letter makes it. Look at what it says; This week marks the three-year anniversary of the earth-shattering scandal involving veteran health care at the Phoenix VA. The deaths of dozens of veterans and needless suffering of thousands more proved the life-threatening dangers of government bureaucracy run amok.
Yet for many of Montana’s 99,646 veterans, very little has changed. Many find their experience is more like a visit to the Motor Vehicles Division, when what they deserve is health care provided by compassionate, highly disciplined, and ethical public servants.
Now what does the New Sec of the VA think he is going to do to change this... This is the government "Single Payer" system run amuck. The leadership of the VA cannot even got a picture of the Commander in Chief hung in the building without a controversy. It is time to try something new and radical... let the private sector compete for VA healthcare dollars for all but the most special of veterans needs. Vets who need screenings and "routine" healthcare as they age should be in the purview of the private sector. Those with really special needs; PTSD and wounded Vets who need special attention for prosthetics can remain in the VA sphere of treatment. Special clinics that satellite off private sector hospital facilities can provide the special care that I warriors deserve. The VA should not be in the building maintenance business... they should be laser focused on providing that special care we all recognize needs to be provided and let the routine "stuff" be handled in a more efficient and competent manner by the private sector.

Actually its worse than you think. That Photo of the President that was so controversial... ya that was partisan politics all the way. So think about that the VA is so screwed up that they think they have the right to make Political statements.
The Vets have never and will never matter to the VA, its a vicious circle. We are the reason they get the funding, but we are the reason they must spend money, so we are the cost that needs to be cut, so they can keep the excess funding, which is then dumped into their bonuses, salaries, and fancy office's. Sure their are Docs and Nurses that care but anyone in the Admin department needs to be fired whole sale. They are WHY vets suffer at the hands of the VA.
