Well to be honest schools have been "sanitizing" American history for years.

PO3 Shaun Taylor Agreed. However, when the very students that are being taught can see through the smoke screen of "patriotism" and see the political actions for what they are ... I, for one, would have to agree with the kids. Patriotism is one thing, changing facts or deleting facts as if those facts did not happen....not so much.

PO3 Shaun Taylor you are right about that. And it has usually been sanitized to the point, because of being Politically Correct. It is a shame as to what some schools teach and it is also leaning in either a left or right direction. More so to the left.

I would stand with the students in this case. History is just that. History. The past is important. The 'whats' and the 'whys' need to be presented in raw form, not censured. Mind boggling, it is!

History is important as a beginning point on a journey. By looking back we can gauge how far we have come. Altering that history skews the starting point and gives us a false reference.
