The problem is that the Democrats are now trying to link Comey's firing with their farcical witch-hunt for a Russia-Trump election connection. They are claiming that Trump fired Comey because of the investigation (that was not investigating the president)

Comey's self aggrandizing narcissism brought him down. He though that he was J.Edgar Hoover reincarnate and was untouchable. He wasn't. Comey lost the confidence of the Justice Department and he was terminated for cause. The Democrats can whine, stomp their feet and hold their breath. I really don't care.
