Well it may have taken 33 years, but we have arrived at the State of 1984. Perhaps its time to dismantle some of the 'letters' of the government- CIA, FBI, and NSA, and begin again. With actual punishable (if violated) safeguards built in.

PO1 John Crafton - sure. But Big Brother is definitely here, now, and in our business.

People were put in position of trust that are not trustworthy. I would put it as “A lot of people broke the law, they need to be tried, convicted and sent to jail before the agancies public confidence will be restored.” It doesn’t matter how high up the ladder these people are, they need to be convicted for their transgressions. Drain the swamp!!!

If there are no honest people left we have lost our country. I'm just not ready to believe that yet.

There is a story, often told, that upon exiting the Constitutional Convention Benjamin Franklin was approached by a group of citizens asking what sort of government the delegates had created. His answer was: "A republic, if you can keep it." The brevity of that response should not cause us to under-value its essential meaning: democratic republics are not merely founded upon the consent of the people, they are also absolutely dependent upon the active and informed involvement of the people for their continued good health.

A brief and accurate answer. I hope it is not too late for a few good people get rid on all these people who work in government who put themselves above it elected officials.

Who can we respect? Seriously. It's a valid question. I've found damn few who I can respect and most of those were in the military. (And, yes, there were many in the military I couldn't) I was taught to respect my elders until they proved they didn't deserve it. Well, now I'm an "elder" and I doubt many respect me (even until they learn what an SOB I am). So, who can we respect?

Gotta' say, as a retired law enforcement/criminal corrections professional, the FBI has lost my trust & respect. These revelations make me almost speechless & wondering where to turn in my world turned upside down. It's said J. Edgar Hoover had "dirt" on everyone from FDR to MLK which he used to benefit himself & his organization. Comey is just icing on a cake of corruption.
