Take a few deep breaths and relax. Of course China and India are going to start doing a bit more; they are literally killing their people… and not doing much for us either. The bottom line is we have made most of the correct moves environmentally in our country; is it perfect? No but I believe we’re doing a good job compared to other countries. We can’t do much more ourselves. The scientists who predicted we were 10 years away from the end of the earth, 11 years ago, did the most damage to the cause. You lie once and you will lie again. It also didn’t help that they deleted and/or destroyed almost all their raw data that supported their original research; that people would have to wade through to perform a proper peer review. No one is saying this climate isn’t changing… the climate is always changing; it has been doing this from the beginning of time.

At the end of the day it comes down to the money/resources. Our country has pretty much worked responsibly on environmental issues within our geographic boundaries and it’s unfair to ask us to do more. The countries that are literally killing their people are the ones who need to pay for their cleanup, not us. People need to know when we can make a difference and not just be a punching bag for the rest of the world. My opinion.

The ones saying that the world would end were a select few. There were plenty that have been peer reviewed and the files have been saved. Trump is the one that made the scientist afraid all of that data was going to be lost so they backed it up and sent it to other scientists around the world. Trump is also the one who has cut the budget for research in those areas. He denies climate change. The entire world loses! Sharing of technology and scientific data is one of the most important parts of saving this planet in the Paris agreement. Trump acts like the Paris agreement was a financial burden that was placed solely on us. We are not the only developed country in the world. And as far as it goes China would not qualify as undeveloped either. It is talking about countries that have nothing, the governments have nothing! Small countries without much of a population. It also didn't put an amount on how much the US had to give. The entire thing is nationally determined, the amount is set by what the countries goals are and then a fund to help the smaller countries financially and/or technology, information etc.... all for a common goal. To encourage full participation it is nonpunitive and set up as to not put undue burden on any country. The leaders of the G7 conference tried to explain this to him but he was just not comprehending it. I am sure he did not even read it, he is not known for his ability to focus on anything like that. He just wants bullet points. Any of his advisers could have told him that the US was the only country that had to support the rest of the world and he would have believed it. China will pay for themselves and that is why they have 13 years. But they have to clean it up for us too. You sound like my kids! The garbage truck is running and my son forgot to take out the trash, I tell my daughter to help us so we don't miss the truck and she tries to say it's not her responsibility! Listen to yourself. You are saying President “Trump made all the scientists afraid.” Do you realize how wild that sounds? All this stuff we are talking about happened 20 years before he is president. You are buying into fear, hate and a bunch of people who aren’t open to honest debate; it’s their way or the highway..

I was talking about what happened on the days after he took office and started shutting down websites. That is when that happened. If you were not paying attention then fine. As far as intelligent discourse, I have plenty of other things to do than engage with you.
