Captain Konrad lays the truth out in both articles for all to see. The COLREGS are there to define strict rules to prevent collision at sea, yet cannot take into account "the human factor". Captain Konrad also states that both vessels are at fault, with which I concur. I cannot comment on any particulars regarding this collision until I am able to read the Collision Review Board findings, where all will be defined and stated clearly and definitively. My thoughts go out to the families and shipmates of the 7 Sailors who perished. Outstanding post, Greg.

Nope, I don't know him. He must be an East Coast Sailor -- I've never made it there, surprisingly. If he sailed on the left coast, I would almost certainly know him.
