As a woman I would agree. If they cant do it - they dont get to wear the tab.

But beyond that - even if they can do it - there is a huge price to pay.

My sister, as a cop, has been injured because of females who should not be cops. My sister is a vet (army). She has always pulled her own weight and then some. But we are big scottish/german girls with lots and lots of natural muscle mass. Sort of genetic background where when the cow died you hooked the plow to the wife. Im 5'7" and shes 5'9". We can both lift and leg press more than most women and alot of men - even when out of shape.

BUT - womens bodies are different. Even though stronger than many men and most women - my sisters body hurts after 20 years as a cop. She hurts all the time. She has kicked butt and come out on top but after that many years she is damaged. Womens muscles are different medically. Our bones are different. Our nerves are different and we break down faster. Real female soldiers and cops, like my mother and sister, report injuries less often so they do not appear to not be pulling their weight. Workers comp numbers show women less likely to report injuries - but when they do they are perm disability type stuff.

If they earned the tab - wear the tab. But if they earn it - they should consider the long term cost. My sister isnt even 40 yet and she hurts every day...all day. And she still puts on her gun belt and does her job without complaint...except to me. But Im her sister and I dont count.

To be clear I have no idea if these women earned it or not. I have no idea. And I know that my sister has gotten her share of comments on if she earned her place or not...because she is also a beautiful blonde... She hates it when people compliment her looks - she worked damn hard to get where she is and its cause she is a kick ass cop. Not because she is gorgeous. All though being a hot blonde works amazingly well when calming down certain male suspects...

We all make adult decisions and are well aware of the risks associated with our occupations. I know 20+ yrs. of service male paratroopers who can barely walk because of the toll it takes on the body. It's not because men are weak, it's because of the nature of the job.

I know a young man who did 4 years of Airborne and his knees are shot.

And thanks for that - my son ships for BCT in Aug. Next Aug he will be at Benning for Airborne training and Ive all ready envisioned all the bad jumps he could have. Its why Im not allowed to film them when we all go MX riding. Because the video has a string of "OH no! Watch OUT. SLOW DOWN. Be careful baby. OH NO. WATCH OUT> OH NOOOO>
SLOW DOWN"... I swear I cant help it. So Im just forbidden from videotaping.

I also ride - but cant watch them ride because I have everything that will go wrong running in my head constantly.

Two year old conspiracy bullshit by those whose egos would explode if a woman passed Ranger School.

I read an article from various unnamed Ranger School Instructors who withheld their names due to fear of reprisal that said the female officers got preferential treatment throughout the entire course. I'll take their word over anybody else.

SSG(P) (Join to see) - I'll take the word of the numerous Ranger NCOs and officers who said the standards didn't change. You know, the ones who are willing to put their name to their comments. If you ever worked wth Rangers, you would know that they value the integrity of the Ranger School and Ranger Regiment as much as their personal integrity. So if a Ranger instructor was ordered to do something that violates that integrity, they would speak up proudly with their name attached because they would know they were doing the right thing. They wouldn't' be worried about retaliation or the effect on their career. They value maintaining the combat readiness of the Rangers above their personal interests. That's the type of people Rangers are. The CG of the post, who said the standards didn't change, was a ground commander for SFOD-D during the Battle for Mogadishu and later the Commander of SFOD-D. His responsibility is to insure the standards of those allowed into SOF isn't lowered. So yeah, there are a lot of Rangers I would believe over a couple of RIs who don't want to see women Rangers period so they spread anonymous rumors.

SFC (Join to see) - so you’re saying that “unnamed sources” are unnamed because they had NDAs? But they’re talking, even if only anonymously?

So why should we take their word for it? If that’s the case, theyre obviously liars. They promised not to talk by singing an NDA. And they broke that promise. So why should they be believed now?
