My first thought is what really lousy tiny thumb safety that is. They probably did the least necessary to meet the MHS specs for it as it's unneeded, safety wise.

I have carried both the Glock and Sig as a police officer and I would take the Sig any day of the week. Glock makes great weapons and I still carry a Glock for off duty/ back up because they are small and light.
The reason why they lost is because Sig came in like $100 million less on their bid, plus they offered a full size and compact frame with each serial numbered trigger group... more bang for less buck.
