I'm not against the Space Corps or whatever it will be called, but it must be created very carefully and take the mistakes learned from creating the Air Force 70 years ago and apply them using modern principles too.

I wish I was still young enough to be part of such a force. No doubt if it was created it would be very small too start, and I don't think there would be many "military astronauts" going into space anytime soon. I don't know, it still seems a bit early to be talking about a Space Corps/Branch, even though it may eventually be inevitable.

From what I've read so far, this isn't about manned space flight, though that will be a function. It's more created for the realm of cyberspace and things of that sort. Basically, he military version of NASA in a sense. Essentially from the E-3, U-2, Global Hawk, etc to satellites, space stations, and the far reaches of outer space would fall under the new branch's "control". It'll be interesting if my AFSC will be split up.

MSgt Jason McClish - I think you may be getting cyberspace confused with space. This is not the same battle space realm.

CW3 (Join to see) I must be. That being clarified, there is now zero reason for a space branch of the Armed Services.
