RallyPoint Members and Connections check out the post from Lt Brad McInnis and let's send this veteran a text or a call for his dying wish (Make the call or text Today). Let this brother know we are here and we are going to make his dying request a reality! I sent mine this morning via text.

Good evening folks! I am asking for a favor from all you veterans! There is an Army veteran, Lee Hernandez, who currently has hospice in his home. I do not know all the details, BUT what I do know is his wife told me he asked to hold his phone and when she asked why he said, "in case someone calls".

After 2 hours and no calls he told his wife, "I guess no one wants to talk to me".

Below is his number, if you want to take 5 minutes out of your day today or tomorrow and call him I know it will brighten his day.

He is blind so his wife can read a text but he cannot. Please let Lee know that the veterans in Arizona are thinking of him!! Currently, I am asking that no one else shares this post. I LOVE that it has already been shared 16 times, but I am afraid it my overwhelm Lee.

Anyone who wants to call him feel free

We added a detour in our August trek to at the very least ride by and rev the engines if Lee is not up to visitors when we are in the area. The family contact said he loves motorcycles, etc so we are having a vest made up with US Army back patch and some other patches for him.

FYI Jayden Manning it seems others are alerting us as well to the request form "An Army veteran in Arizona with a terminal illness has a unique final wish. Lee Hernandez is currently in hospice care in his home. According to the Arizona Republic, he has continuous strokes that affect his vision and cognitive abilities.
Doctors can do nothing more for him except make him comfortable.
Lee served more than 18 years in the Army, including a tour in Iraq.
Earlier this week, he asked his wife to let him hold his phone, “in case someone calls,” according to a post on the Arizona Veterans Forum.
After two hours with no calls, he told his wife, “I guess no one wants to talk to me.”
After the post calling for other veterans to give Hernandez a call, Hernandez and his wife have been inundated with calls.
The Arizona Republic said the best time to call or text is between 4pm and 8pm Eastern time. That is when Hernandez is most alert."
Thanks for alerting us LT Brad McInnis and COL Mikel J. Burroughs
