This was the place for an inspirational speech....not a political hit piece. Talk about living a life of service......about staying in school, and building a solid future......talk about developing leadership skills.....and caring for others, as well as being good caretakers of the planet we live on. He should tailor the speech to the audience he is appearing in front of.

Why not, the Boy Scouts have been building leaders for a very long time. Besides the previous administration made political decisions affecting the Boy Scouts.

Scouting in my experience was never apolitical with emphasis on citizenship and merit badges covering responsibilities in the Community, Nation and World. It was however nonpartisan in the presentation of politics.

I agree with you CSM but I also think that everything is political. What is scouting? What are the Boy Scouts? What is their tasks and purpose? Scouting represents a formula and process for young men to become responsible youth. Youth that strive to better themselves and be something. Now that something is what? Selfless Service to others, Resilient, Perseverance, Self Control, Self Sufficient. All great components of making boys of character into men of character.

LTC (Join to see) - Roger, I am an Old Eagle Scout and the lessons learned helped me throughout my life. In saying it is apolitical I mean that it teaches the composition of our and other systems and "how to think" and build sound opinions without teaching "what to think".

LTC (Join to see) - Well of course; you can't be telling young men to be Physically strong, Mentally awake and Morally straight. Holly cow man that's promoting "toxic masculinity" and throwing a wrench in the "legalize Marijuana" movement and heaven forbid anyone promote "traditional values" and it even promotes patriotism which goes against "Globalism".
So while it's been a lightning rod for the lefts Ire as far back as the sixties and the counter culture; it takes a beating and just keeps on, keepin' on.
