He was indicted for murder. Life without parole is not a possible sentence for murder, only for capital murder. The possible sentence was 5-99 years or life with the possibility of parole, he was sentenced to 75 years.
The case is not final, it is being appealed by the defendant. He was tried before Judge Wisch, who is a very good judge.
I'll also point out that Gerry Handsborough was also an Army veteran, but who had issues with K2 while at Fort Bliss, and who was possibly discharged under less than honorable conditions.

Thank you for the clarification, much appreciated. I had not seen any mention of drugs.

PO1 Tony Holland - I don't know if the drugs was published in the news anywhere, but it was in the extraneous bad acts notice filed by the DA in the case.

PO1 Tony Holland I'm a City "Urban" Boy. You Have a Gun, You have a Gun Store that Makes You a Likely Victim for Thugs wanting to Steal It so they have something to use in an "Armed" Robbery. I've Always Said Perspective is Everything. How Many Guns have been Stolen From "Legal" Owners to be Later used in Crime. On top of a Few Friends Blowing Their Brains out with "Legally" owned Guns. I'm Not a Gun Fanatic. Yes I served on 3 Armed Security Alert Teams. No I Don't Own a Gun!

I know there’s a difference in opinion between those of us that were raised with guns in the Country and those who were raised in the City. I have always had guns. Guns are a tool, nothing more. I attended MI School after Vietnam and was sent to Germany as a Case Officer. I spent the remainder of my career there except for returning for retirement!
