I find it sad when those of us who swore to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution, have no clue as to the fact that it is what makes America great and that "Let's make America Great Again" is nothing more than a plea to return to its guidelines. Now, this presentation is full of generalities. Allow me to offer a few of my own. Keep in mind that generalities are no basis for deciding issues. They are typically reserved for rabble rousing (inciting the mob). Thus, my generalities are just as flawed as those presented by this young man. However, mine are no less valid. For example, America didn't invent slavery. It merely continued a cultural heritage passed down from time immemorial. To its credit, America ended the practice without outside interference. The Constitution didn't create slavery and it didn't have to be amended to end it. All we had to do was simply read its words as they are written, We the People (People including all People). Same with women's suffrage. Women are People too. Oh, and all those Southwestern states that we "stole" from Mexico. When did they become Mexico? Oh yeah, when they "stole" them from Native Americans. Oh, and when did those "Native" Americans become natives? When they immigrated from Asia. Oh, and when did they take "ownership" of the lands that Europeans found them occupying? When they won it by conquest from the other Native Americans they slaughtered (other immigrants who arrived before them). Can anyone show me any square inch of this planet that wasn't won by conquest? Do earlier conquests have any legal standing over later conquests? One last word about slavery: Always keep in mind that America didn't enslave Africans. Their fellow Africans enslaved and sold them to America. Oh, and the agents of this exchange were Muslims. I could go on and on, but you get the idea. Generalizations, broad statements taken out of context, are not a valid argument promoting anything. They are simply used to incite the mob. Please don't let this young man incite you. Study history for yourself. Maybe, just maybe, you find the greatness in an America building itself from the blueprint described in the Constitution.

Well, you certainly roused my rabble! The only square inch that I can think of that wasn't won by conquest is Antarctica. How it slipped by has to be because its just too damn cold!

CPT Jack Durish - Great points, all of them. I disagree with what you may think to be my reason for posting this and the purpose of his video. I say it makes people think. It's not just a history lesson - its a perspective to crack a bit of ignorance from someone's eyes about their surroundings and beliefs and a chance for worthy discussion.

I liked the last line. But the rest of it was pretty myopic. Basically ignored 200+ years of history and only focused on racial issues.

I bet the speaker has never left the US and seen the rest of the world. He has no clue that the rest of the world does NOT have the freedoms we have. He takes for granted our freedoms. He has never visited a country where road blocks are a daily occurrence and anyone can be thrown in jail without be charged with a crime. Where there is no bail system, no lawyers and any trial result is pre-determined.

He needs to see the world first and then tell me whether America is great.

Well said sir most people who talk like this have never gone out of their own way out into the world. America is a fantasy in some ways where life is not full proof but it safer then most countries living here.

Welcome to a Liberal view of US history. I suspect this is what is being taught in public schools these days. Aside from some of the factual errors is his history lessons, such as the US was murdering Mexicans during the Mexican-American war--it's a war dummy, people are going to get killed--his view is clearly a let's blame America first. He gives scant credit to the idea that the US has increased the freedom of its population almost continuously since 1776. He passes over the good that came from the Civil War, Civil Rights Acts and Laws, and universal suffrage. He discounts that the US was a major contributor to victory in WWII thus stopping tyrannical dictatorships from using military power to rule Europe and Asia and to target the Americas. He treats economic and military power like they are something dirty. Yet he is free to spout is liberal view of American history in public, using public communications, and without fear of arrest because of the very Constitution and laws he fails to recognize a great accomplishments. What bull! (On top of all that, he doesn't even know how to wear a baseball cap.)
