Technically no. The economy did start to get better but then slide into a recession during the depression, what brought the U.S. economy out of the recession/depression was WW2. The U.S. started building up equipment and materials before we entered the war and once we officially entered the war the economy was going full blast for the war effort.

You'll have to explain this one. "The economy did start to get better but then slide into a recession during the depression..." I'm not clear on how an economy can slide into a recession while it is in a depression. Is that what you meant to say?

Not trying to write the entire thesis, but under FDR's plan the economy did start to improve a bit, but then leveled out and started to back slide, thus we had a recession during the depression. The economy never fully recovered until we started preparations for WW2 which FDR was preparing for so I guess you can give him some credit there, but his economic policies really did not bring the U.S. out of the depression.
