Wish they'd find another topic to haggle over. Any death to a family member is tragic. It takes some years to overcome the grief. Bringing it up by either Party is just wrong. I don't care who started it because 2 wrongs don't make a right. Someone has to be above it and just move on. While they compare scorecards over how they treated families of the dead they are constantly reminding them of something they'd rather be at rest. I hope it doesn't cause Kelly to pack up and move on.

Ill tell you one thing. Obama may have not called every family of a fallen Soldier. But he NEVER insulted A GOLD STAR FAMILY on national tv for political gain.

Maj Marty Hogan with respect Obama did not apologise to the Japanese when he went on his tour of Hiroshima he offered his condolences for the loss of life but did not offer any apologies from the US he rather pushed forth the narative that we must learn from the past and move foward. I remeber because some Japanese families where upset at Obama because he didn't apologize for the the bombing but Obama simply stated with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe that this trip was about accepting what happened and moving foward.

MAJ James Woods - It's not accurate to say that Hiroshima and Nagasaki were not legitimate military targets:
"Hiroshima was chosen as the first target due to its military and industrial values. As a military target, Hiroshima was a major army base that housed the headquarters of the Japanese 5th Division and the 2nd Army Headquarters. It was also an important port in southern Japan and a communications center..."

I'm not saying there weren't other non-strategic reasons why those cities were selected but it's not like these were purely non-military targets.
As for dropping the bomb off the coast, even after the bombings of two cities and the Emperor ready to surrender there was an attempted coup by members of the Japanese military who wanted to fight to the last man, woman and child.

PO2 Robert Aitchison - Every source one choose will give similar reasons with mild differences. Like this BBC historical source and this History.com source. Consistent theme between all sources and my own studies from my fascination with military history and strategy is location, terrain, target accessibility, low risk to aircraft, and the desire by military and political leaders to see the after effects on a live target. Note Hiroshima and Nagasaki had not been targeted by USAF regardless of military targets there. Note your article stated the US SecWar wanted to avoid targets of cultural significance regardless of strategic possibilities.
The fact that several sources will imply we used the bombings for research in conjunction with military strategy should make one sick to the stomach if any bit true.

Major Woods. I would not know a fake store unless it was so far out in left field that it was totally unbelievable. I like to watch the news but stopped that a few years ago.

SSG Michael Hartsfield
LCDR Gordon Brown 2LT Louis G. - And what were the responses for that?
"Obama's in charge now."
"He's already making excuses."
"He's the president now. George W. isn't."
I love how so many of you have short term memory when it comes to someone you support but can remember minute details about someone you hate. BLUF & and like you said 2LT, "If it's good for the goose..." Obama COULDN'T use the blame game for long because as a leader, you have to eventually take responsibility even if you were bequeathed a shit sandwich. Trump is not and will never take responsibility for anything he does or doesn't do and shows that daily & people like you two will always find ways to blame Obama for why Trump's a dud instead of insisting he step up or step off.

2LT Louis Gonzales - He did not spend the entire 8 years blaming Bush. He did sometimes in his first year but nowhere near as much as Trump blames Obama for EVERYTHING bad.
