Lawsuit: Couple detained after hibiscus mistaken for pot

Insurance agent mistook an elderly couples Hibiscus plants for Marijuana, sent pictures to cops (who also apparently can't identify Marijuana) who raided the couples home, keeping the couple locked up in the back of a patrol car for hours.
Now the couple is suing both the police and and the insurance agent and I can't say I blame them.

That's pretty sad. A field test kit would have told them it wasn't pot, but that wont make up for the storm trooper tactics.

@po1 Robert Aitchison Police officers who cannot identify a marijuana plant should not be allowed to arrest someone for having one. Call a police officer who has both the capability and intelligence to do a simple google search. Much as I hate who litigious our society has become, I hope that Nationwide and the Department who arrested them both are put to task financially for this retardation.
