They want to replace the C-2 with a V-22? Looks like the MV-22B has a combat radius of only 390nmi and a ferry range of 1940nmi compared to the C-2A which has a mission range of 1300nmi. Now I'm sure that the CMV-22B would have longer legs but I still kind of doubt it would be able to match the range of the Greyhound.
Suprisingly the load capacity of the Osprey is similar to the Greyhound and has additional versatility by being able to handle slung loads which the Greyhound obviously cannot.
I guess this could work better than I would have thought, though I still think it would have been better to bring back the S-3B as the C-3 which could do double duty as a COD and long legged tanker platform.
