Shocker. Is anyone surprised? Actually, I'm a bit surprised at the Abuse Score that the U.S. got. It seems like it should be the other way around. Journalists have been very abusive of certain elected officials and in many other countries they would be digging them up out of the field if they crossed someone in the government. The abuse our elected officials get from the press is actually a measure of their Freedom to express their opinions and frankly, I don't think the score America got was reflective of the freedom we have in this country.

Despite the crazy current political environment I'm surprised we are not higher. If anything I'd argue that the current political environment is highlighting the strength of our freedom of the press.
