Terrorism eyed after driver allegedly targets pedestrians in Philadelphia

I glad the off-duty police officer from my birth city shot this so-far unnamed driver who ran over one pedestrian and was heading towards another Sgt Wayne Wood
Philadelphia had to deal with the new black panthers over the past decade.
"Terrorism was being eyed as a possible motive after a man in a black Honda targeted pedestrians Monday morning in Philadelphia, seriously injuring one person before being shot in the head by an off-duty cop, officials said.
The driver, who wasn’t immediately identified, is in “extremely critical condition” after he was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the head, police said at the scene. Reports initially indicated the suspect had been pronounced dead."
I looked through the posted comments and didn't see many focused on Obama.
Hopefully this driver will be investigated and if terrorism links are clearly identified I hope he will be charged as a terrorist.

He is dead; how could he be charged? Also, black panther activity sounds like a serious reach, given the circumstances: lone fella from Maryland hits some pedestrian, chases another on foot before returning to car and trying to punch the responding off-duty cop, subsequently being shot after a verbal warning. It also didn't sound as if the cops found a weapon on the assailant. Yeah, just sounds like some nut-job lashing out at this point.

I said "new black panthers" who were the ones who intimidated voters in the national elections.
Most of the Black Panthers, Weathermen, SPLA and other terrorist groups of the 1960s have died already.
I think the MOVE rebels are mostly dead by now. They were active when I was in the Philadelphia area before I enlisted there in 1974.
You don't consider a car to be a weapon in what could be an intentional attack?
Before 9-11-2001 many didn't consider airplanes used by al Qaeda operatives to attack our infrastructure on as weapons. [those who survived Japanese kamikaze airplane attacks certainly knew better.]

Well, new black panthers....I dunno - I lived in the city from 2013 - 2016 and am about to move back....never heard of em or saw any activity consisted with an organized movement.
I do consider a car a weapon; I was referring to guns or bombs, since you alluded to terrorism (i.e. the truck ramming into the Argentinian tourists in Manhattan and similar situations). This fella hit a pedestrian, chased another on foot and then attacked the off-duty cop bare-fisted. The point is not to excuse him for his behavior, but to put in check paranoia about terrorism. I know it is upsetting and disturbing to tune in and see horrible terroristic attacks seemingly every other day on the news, but it just sounded like you had misinterpreted what had happened. No offense intended, just wanted to clarify for credibility and for my own peace of mind. LTC Stephen F.
