Analysis | Ordering Guantánamo to stay open is one thing, but refilling it is another

The Supreme Court of the United States, the last time they decided anything about it, declared the U.S. Naval Station at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, virtually US soil, and allow unlawful combatant Islamists who want to kill us the right to request habeas corpus. Therefore the US Constitution does apply, unfortunately. However, detainees held there also fall under the Law of Land Warfare (Army Field Manual 27-10) and the Geneva Conventions. American values believe in a government of laws, not men. Laws are now and have always been in effect at Gitmo. The MSM and Alt-Left have LIED to you about the truth of Gitmo. It is the finest military detention facility in the world. ICRC physicians I worked with there in 2002, told me, "No one does [detention operations] better than Americans." Gitmo detainees enjoy FREE Qurans, prayer rugs/beads, directions to Mecca on guard towers, hala and special Muslim holiday meals, white robes, beards, reading and writing materials, services of US military Muslim chaplains, world class health care, eyeglasses, recreation, DVD's, TV. Oh, and not ONE of the 730 released nor 41 remaining unlawful combatant Islamists who want to kill us has been executed, beheaded, blown up, hacked to death, dragged naked and lifeless through the streets, drowned or burned alive.
