Nobody likes to discuss grades/GPA. To vets attending college, or thinking about going, this is more important than you think.
Yes, you might get 1 or 2 hiring managers that say it isn't important. The reality is, if you don't have any relevant years of experience in the profession you are applying for, your GPA becomes one of the main indicators of how well you can learn, perform, and succeed as a potential member of their team. If you can't even keep a B average, how will I know if you can add value to my team (all about perception)? Even with your military service, your GPA could be the difference in you getting an interview.
I have seen hiring managers throw away resumes that didn't call out a GPA, or the GPA was below their standards (usually less than a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale). Don't give recruiters a reason to pass you up. Take your grades seriously from day one of class. Do whatever you have to do to keep the GPA above a 3.0, or at least a B average and above. Everything comes back to being well rounded, and that includes excelling as a student. To me, this is an easy win that you can control. No slacking allowed!

Your GPA also has the power to block you from other studies such as a master's as well To say My undergrad GPA was low is understatement, it was subterranean for an engineering student. It made selling myself to an Army branch hard. It made selling myself to HRC as a grad school candidate hard. It made selling myself to masters programs hard. I was not vindicated until I built a new GPA in grad school.
