Americans don’t need more money to be happier—they need to be like Denmark

I came across this article as I thought about how I'm very picky about who I let myself use the word "friend" as how to describe them. High-quality social interactions are what we should be aspiring for. In a war zone, obviously the people next to you who aren't shooting at you are your best friends. Outside of that situation, I find it is very important to interact with people who push you to be better, banish any weaknesses inside of you and also encourage you to be more self-reliant (healthy habits). When people join the military, we all come from different points in our life. Being a good mentor and a good listener when others mentor you create a new kind of currency which enriches the quality of life of yourself and those around you. Tough day? Your best friend in your branch comes over and makes you laugh. One of those deep belly laughs where you think you'll never stop and you don't really want to. Great day? Another friend congratulates you but also tells you what you can do better. Of course, you can accept this. This is someone who knows you well and wants you to succeed. if those scenarios, speak to you in anyway, perhaps it is time for us to change.
